The reception furniture Wave, is a bespoke piece that was designed, manufactured, and placed in the reception area of a Maritime company with specific functional requirements and a high aesthetic vision.

It represents the first impression a visitor has upon entering the space, and is the most important creation in the narrative of the company’s HQ. Wave combines a sculptural form with a pivotal functional piece of furniture for the office space. The design intention and its placement within the architecture are meant to leave a lasting impression on the visitor and serve as the company’s signature.

The design team of architects aimed to express the company’s vision with a form that evokes the sea, while appearing both solid and airy at the same time. The goal was for the furniture to add a light, airy feeling to the space, while also possessing a strong presence, character, and individuality.

Its placement in the space was decided to be free-standing, and its location was chosen both due to its central position at the entrance and the surrounding openings of the building. This furniture piece is made out of wood, and the way it was used was not carved, but joined in independent sections, in order to highlight the folding and stages of a wave’s progression.

The reception desk Wave was distinguished with the Golden Wood Award 2022.
